Midweek musings.

Midweek musings.

The end of the week is nigh, wine Wednesday has passed, and the number of fucks you’re giving about your 9 to 5 is rapidly decreasing. Enjoy this moment.

Remember that you’ve already conquered some shit this week, and you only have a few more things to do before you head back into the weekend. Besides, when the weekend comes, you’ll be counting down the hours until you have to go back to work anyways.

“I have to sleep in Saturday and Sunday so I go into the week refreshed.”

“I’ve gotta go out Saturday night, because Sunday night is a work night.”

“I won’t make a lot of plans for Sunday, because that’s the last free day I’ve got.”

I can’t be the only one who puts all this unnecessary stress on weekends. I don’t know how I even enjoy them anymore.

It’s time to be present. When you think about hitting your friend up for happy hour, do it with no remorse. When your family comes to town, make time to see their faces. When you realize you’ve missed your bedtime for the third night in a row, roll with the punches.

Sometimes we spend so much time preparing for the next move that we forget to live in and love the moment. The here and now.

Today didn’t go exactly as planned for me, but I think it went how it was meant to. Sometimes breaking from your plan means you can enjoy the perfect meal or help a friend.

At the end of the day you shouldn’t ask yourself, “did I do what I set out to do today?” You should ask, “what have I accomplished?” You might surprise yourself.
